A journal, not a pulpit

I’m not here to preach at you.

I’m a curious guy who got tired of not having answers. So I started writing down what I found. This is the journal.

Think of it as the X-Files, for the Bible. The cases are open, the evidence is on the table, and nobody here is claiming to have closed one.

An adventist — small a — is someone waiting on the second coming. By that definition most of Christianity qualifies. It is a description, not a denomination.

The load-bearing half of the name is practically: work the evidence rather than argue doctrine.

One guy, one computer

What changed is that the tools got good and the sources came online — manuscript images, critical editions, Dead Sea Scroll transcriptions, translation databases. Material that used to mean a research library and a reading knowledge of four languages.

The machines help

I use AI to cross-reference, compare translations and take first passes at things I’d never get through alone. It speeds up the reading. It doesn’t do the thinking, and it doesn’t get a byline.

Who wrote what

Some of what’s here I wrote. Some of it the “staff writers” filled in — the AI, working from my research. A healthy mix on purpose, so you don’t get bored of me or lost in machine-written filler.

Every article carries the strongest case against its own reading, in a section you can open. Not because hedging is fashionable, but because a page that never publishes what it might be wrong about has stopped being research and started being a sermon.

I do everything I can to get it right. I don’t claim to be the authority on any of it, and you shouldn’t treat me as one — that’s what the source lists are for.

This is written for people who find the promise more interesting than the punishment. I’m not trying to convert anyone. If something here helps you find what you were looking for, that’s the whole point.
